Renato Pellicano

What gives me a real buzz is the initial phone call from an agent introducing a prospective tenant or development site, the first meeting or site inspection and the quick back of the envelope feasibility.

The majority of my role is in the property development side of the business, from site acquisition and design to sales, marketing and leasing. The diversification of the group is what excites me most. It gives me the freedom to investigate development sites across all property sectors and together with the whole team bring these projects to fruition.

The balance of my time is spent overseeing the property management team and servicing our tenants. This enables me to maintain contact with our tenants and keep abreast of any changes to buildings in our portfolio.

In this business no two days are the same. That, coupled with the enjoyment I get from working in a skilled and dedicated team environment, are the main reasons I come back every day.

Assunta Pellicano

I’ve really enjoyed our 43 year journey of seeing this company grow from just three of us to having more than 100 employees. It’s a wonderful feeling.

From administration to diversifying into share investment, child care and aged care sectors, it’s been a great learning curve and experience in general.

Of course it’s been hard at times but now we’re starting to enjoy the next stage thanks to the committed effort by everyone who works in the company: it’s a real team focus. We’re all a team.

I love having the four boys involved in the business as well – I actually get to see them and really be actively involved with their day-to-day lives.

And now we’re on to the fourth generation of the Pellicano’s… they’re only toddlers but it’s just the beginning!

Nunzio Pellicano

The Pellicano Group is a business built on generations… it’s the best foundation to build on.

Personally I’m very grateful for how it’s evolved and I’m proud and privileged that Frank, together with his two sons and my sons, have joined the business. We put so so so many hours in at work – which we all do – so it’s enjoyable to have family around you all the time.

The younger generations push new boundaries and embrace new technology. Knowledge in the field without technology is fine, but with a combination of both, there are no boundaries.

The future of the company is now with the younger ones; we’ll continue to support and work with them in the business.

This company has meant everything to me – and Frank – and I know it’s being left in great hands.

Michael Pellicano

It’s great that 50 – 60 per cent of our business comes through the Group and the rest is word of mouth. We’ve built a strong reputation in the industry and I’m proud to be a part of it.

We work within a really tight family unit; we all work hard but we love what we do so it’s hardly difficult.

I’d have to say what I like best about my role is working on-site, literally seeing buildings created from the ground up.

No two days are ever the same and we constantly face new challenges. And for all of those challenges, we find solutions. And those solutions are still delivered on time and on budget.

Antonio Pellicano

The finance, accounting and funds management team is responsible for the reporting and funding for entities within the Pellicano Group and our many joint venture partners. It’s one area of the business that we are really looking to grow over the next few years.

With each of the ‘next generation’ overseeing different divisions within the group, we all really complement each other well with our different skill sets and are a great support for each other. I think you care even more about a business too when you’ve grown up in it and it’s always been a part of your life.

Frank Pellicano

That’s the philosophy I have embraced over the last 43 years. Through honesty, integrity, reliability and hard work, our Group has grown from humble beginnings to being recognised today as a formidable player in the construction and property industry. Along the journey, we have enjoyed strong support and have many people to thank for the Group’s success.

My special thanks to our very loyal and dedicated team members, our valued clients, tenants and joint venture partners, and of course our very supportive financiers.

There are many wonderful people involved in this industry and I have been fortunate to develop long standing friendships with some of the very best, born from working relationships.

My role today is to work with the younger Directors and our senior team members to ensure the culture and ethics on which our success was founded will be preserved and continued into the future.

Nando Pellicano

Restructuring and establishing the new company in 2004 was so important as it meant Pellicano could be so much more than ‘just’ a building company, offering expertise in development, funds and asset management as well. We employ experts in these fields and deliver only the highest level of customer service all the time.

The creative side of the business is what excites me most, whether it’s a business park master plan, office building, residential development or warehouse. With our in-house design division and good network of external architects, it is in this phase that the buildings or master plans are created. The team then works tirelessly to ensure these projects can be delivered in a cost effective and timely manner.

The future has no boundaries, and what lies ahead is really exciting for the Group.
