One of the crowning features of a $700m residential and retail precinct in Brisbane’s inner-south has launched – a New York-inspired film centre to be run by one of the country’s fastest-growing cinema chains.

Reading International recently swung the doors open on the city’s newest cinema, Angelika Film Centre, at Woolloongabba’s South City Square.

The venue is Reading’s first Angelika Film Centre outside the United States.
The original cinema in New York’s Soho neighbourhood opened in 1989 and since then has become known for showcasing the best in independent, foreign and
specialty films.

Featuring eight state-of-the-art cinemas, including three luxurious Soho Lounge cinemas, Angelika is the latest addition to South City Square from developers
Pellicano and Perri Projects.
